Password Resync

What is it?
Users often forget their workstation or domain login passwords. When hundreds or thousands of users are involved this becomes a time consuming and costly exercise for the Helpdesk team. Valuable and limited resources are consumed just resetting passwords. To fight the harsh business climate of today more users are working longer, away from the office and out of hours: the problem becomes exacerbated.

Password ReSync negates valuable resources from this problem by providing functions that allow end-users to control their own logon accounts. It allows users to re-synchronise their own passwords by providing a customisable client front end that utilises existing company databases. This frees the Helpdesk’s valuable resources, reduces costs and the self-enabling technology is available 24 x 7 x 365.

  • Self-enabled password resets 24 x 7 x 365
  • Also covers account lockouts
  • Enforces strong password policies
  • Fully audits all password reset activity
  • Reduces costs
  • Increases productivity
  • Increases security
  • Password synchronisation across major platforms using PassGo InSync
  • Browser based - no client code to install
  • Fewer employees are required to manage user accounts
  • Fully configurable user questions
  • Utilises existing user databases

Key Features

Return on Investment
Enabling the users to reset their own passwords, securely, anytime of day or night, 365 days a year, without the need for any helpdesk intervention, will pay for itself within twelve months. Additionally, other benefits are acquired by increased productivity from the users by elevating any wait times and by freeing expensive, highly qualified technicians to utilise their skills more beneficially.

Strong Security
Corporate security policies can be enforced and audited on user access by enforcing strong passwords to the user community. All password reset activity is fully audited.

Current Limitations
Only Windows domain and Active Directory is supported but for other operating systems Helpdesk Resync is compatible with Passgo’s Insync to enable single password access across multiple platforms.
A user needs access to a web browser or Intranet in order to reset their password and unlock their account. This can be completed from any workstation or guest account. To enable the user to complete this from their own standard Windows NT/2000/XP workstation a GINA enables a web browser from their secure desktop without the user having to log in.

Security
Helpdesk Resync protects against social engineering attacks and enhances user privacy and increases security of the password reset administration process.
